For a breakfast to supposedly be defined as "healthy", it should contain at least 3 different food groups in the meal. I.E., a grain, milk and fruit, such as a piece of whole wheat toast, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and 1 sliced banana. Other factors to take into consideration is to make sure to get at least 4 grams of fiber in a breakfast meal, and don't over do it on the fat or refined carbs. You want breakfast to keep you feeling full for a while, so that's one of the many reasons its the "most important meal of the day".
My breakfast this morning:
Kashi cinnamon harvest cereal with reduced fat soy milk and 4 sliced fresh strawberries; and of course I had to have some of my mocha java blend coffee. It is flavored so well that I don't even need to add anything to it.
Needless to say, breakfast this morning kept me feeling full for quite a while today, so I considered it a success.
