The new 2010 dietary guidelines are now accessible to the public. These guidelines are updated every 5 years, so until this past month, everyone has been going by the 2005 dietary guidelines.
Two main guidelines include:
-Maintaining calorie balance over time to achieve and sustain a healthy weight
-Focus on consuming nutrient-dense foods and beverages
