New year, new goals

My goal this year is to maintain a healthy diet, and enjoy it! Also, to really push myself at the gym & tone up. Having this blog will be a reinforcer for me and maybe others, to be the healthiest I can be!

My current research:
- How tea consumption can adversely effect iron absorption
-Fluoride in prevention of dental caries

So look for more on the first topic, as I study and research it I'll give some facts!

What 'different' food I'm currently trying:
Almond milk.
It was actually an accident that I tried it... I usually get all my groceries at Publix but this time I went to wal-mart, and I buy soy milk instead of regular milk. However, I only like to buy the light soy milk, because the regular kind has like 5 grams of fat. Since they only had the regular kind, I saw the almond milk, and that it had less fat, so decided to try it.
Stats:
-Tastes like soy milk, with a hint of almond
-60 cals per serving
-1 g fiber per serving (not significant)
-2.5 grams of fat per serving, and no saturated fat
-45% daily value of calcium compared to 30% from regular milk

So go check it out! Especially if you like soy milk, and not regular milk. I just find regular milk unappetizing to drink.

Tomorrow is grocery shopping day, so maybe I'll have some interesting foods and recipes to share tomorrow.
